the book of drawing originals.
Traditionally sketched and water colours of my nook of drawing images.
These are the original ideas for my series of six images for my book of drawings.
I have based my work around the signs of the zodiac.
I originally created the ideas and drew them down with various graphite pencils. I was going to outline them in fine liner but I thought the lack of colour made them look bland and uninteresting. So I added a splash of colour with watercolours. After this I still found them uninteresting so I have decided to recreate them digitally to make the colours more vivid and interesting.
I have interpreted the following signs of the Zodiacs.
-capricorn
-leo
-pisces
-gemini
-taurus
-virgo
Alphonse Mucha
Alphonse Mucha
Alphonse Mucha is a czech art noveau painter and decorative artist. I love his individual style and the use of plain yet vivid colour. His attention to simplistic detail draws me to his work.
Josephine wall
Josephine wall
Josephine Wall is a fantasy painter from Doreset. Her pottery figures include characters from Tolkien's Lord of the rings and mythological creatures. Pieces of this work now feature in a book on the history of Poole Pottery.
Her paintings are mainly influenced and inspired by Arthur Rackham, with lesser influences from surrealist artists such as Magritte and DalĂ, and the romanticism of the pre-Raphaelites.
I love these illusrtations of the signs of the zodiac, I love how she depicts them and how detailed they are.

Rohan Eason
Rohan Eason
Eason is a fantastic illustrator and painter. I love his twist on a dark fairytale esc style reminds me of Tim burton. Most of his works are created with either charcoal or fine liner and a varied amount of black pens.
For a while Eason flirted with fashion illustration but realised his true love for childrens book illustration soon after his carrier change. He is currently working on his own book, based on the myth of the old man and the sea, and has exchanged pen and ink for oil painting, tight drawing for a splashier expressionism.
Patric Bates
Patric Bates
This is Patric Bates, I have researched him because I love his style, the lack of vivd colour makes his work more interesting.
Bates mainly uses water colours and pens to create his pieces.and his work is influenced by Surrealism and art nouveau.
Patric has won awards for his work and has been in many involved in many publications and exibitions. He also won 2nd place at springville Utah's art salon. He recently created an EP cover for Ferocious oaks. He also sells prints via etsy.

The book of drawings take 2
The book of drawings...take 2
When I first started this project I had so many ideas on what to do, because of this all my ideas became jumbled up in my head. After A LOT of research into things that I thought would make a good series of images, I decided to base my work around the zodiac star signs and that is what the following research is based on.
Craww
Craww
http://www.craww.com/about
Craww is a self taught artist from Sheffield. He takes his inspiration from music, daydreams, nature.
''Craww likes ambiguity and his work explores his fascination with things that aren’t quite what they seem. Pretty things in dark places, nasty surprises masquerading in beauty, hidden stories and happy accidents, brought to life with a mix of elegance, balance and disciplined chaos.
His work is a story without an end - a stream of consciousness ramble through the woods, populated with skulls, crows and melancholic girls with big hands.''Old school
Myke Chambers
At a young age, Myke left home with a backpack and his dog to wander the countryside by freight train in search of something he never found. Living a vagabond life he began his tattoo apprenticeship in the early 90's...along with his schooling of hard-knocks and plenty of tough life lessons learned, he's emerged into a well rounded tattooer and overall better person that is always there to help his fellow man when in need.
Myke's style has strong roots in Traditional Americana, though he likes to put his own spin on the basic concepts of Old School, his style is clearly his own. Today, he's trying to focus on painting and growing with every new endeavor he undertakes. Myke hasn't yet shaken the wanderlust and you might find him roaming anywhere in the world, honing his craft.
